Duke of Edinburgh
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is for all young people, whatever their background or ability, between the ages of 14 and 25. It gives opportunities for personal achievements, adventure, community and social involvement and a widening of interests. The Award is widely recognised by employers and Universities. It encourages young people to make new friends, try new things and build their self-esteem. There is also a passport award aimed at 11-14 year olds.

The Newport Centre has a leisure pool. The multipurpose sports hall has facilities for badminton, netball, tennis, basketball, volleyball and squash. Newport Centre also houses the Solutions fitness gym.
