*Home Start Newport
The service is for parents with one child under the age of 5 who are under stress, experiencing a difficult time in their life. Home Start Newport is a voluntary organisation in which volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown and emphasising the pleasures of family life. There are also four family support groups please ring for details.

*Newport Advocacy Service - Tros Gynnal
Children and young person's rights and advocacy service, they will help sort out your problems in the best and quickest way. If you're unhappy with an answer you've received from a Social Worker or others in authority. Tros Gynnal will help if it is necessary to make a complaint - this is called advocacy. The advocate will chat to you, work out what you want to say and will speak on your behalf.

The service offers free, local and accurate information on childcare; early years education; playschemes; training and career opportunities in childcare, early years and playwork; children and young people's organisations and signposting to other support services.

Aims to provide a 'flying start' for children aged up to 5 years. Programmes include development of confidence, self-esteem, and skills of parents. Health access projects, advise parents on children's health and development. Sure Start crèche supports family and health groups offering quality childcare in community settings. Projects include young parents group.
