Have your say
Young People Having a Say
"Every young person in Wales has a basic right to be consulted, to participate in decision making and to be heard on all matters that concern them or have an impact on their lives"
(Welsh Assembly Government Extending Entitlement 2002)
Newport Youth Council is all about 'Young People Having A Say'. It's an opportunity for young people in Newport to have a voice on issues that affect them, and to become actively involved in local decision-making.
Young people's ideas and opinions are really important in helping to shape the future, in helping to design new services and make existing services work better. Through Newport Youth Council, young people can have a say in this decision-making, they can raise their own issues, discuss ideas and put forward suggestions to the ˜decision-makers' via the Children and Young Peoples Partnership.
