SuperDragons set to invade Newport!
This summer 50 SuperDragons, and 48 smaller dragons, will be decorated and painted by local artists. The event, known as SuperDragons, is being hosted by
The five-foot-high, six-foot-long and two-foot-wide SuperDragon sculptures weigh 60kg, are made of fibreglass and will be decorated with paint and various materials chosen by the artist, before being given a coat of waterproof varnish to protect them from the elements.
Once decorated, the SuperDragons will be strategically placed to highlight historical or architectural interest at various locations throughout
The chosen artists started work in late April and the dragons will go on parade throughout the city and surrounding area in late July. The SuperDragons trail is set to be one of the major highlights of the Newport Festival 2010, after which the SuperDragons will be auctioned and money donated to the wildlife charity Bornfree.

o did one of the dragons with the info shop! ours is outside the newport city homes office... opposite the pill asda front carpark
